Lecturer Leadership in Education
The Department of Leadership in Education, Higher Education Program, in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track position as a part-time Lecturer, to begin September 1, 2024. Of particular interest are candidates with scholarly expertise related to equity-focused leadership in higher education, as well as teaching and learning in higher education, with a focus on culturally sustaining and asset-based pedagogies.
Community Service Officer Public Safety
A Community Service Officer (CSO) is an unarmed, uniformed security position, and is a non-sworn (civilian) member of the UMass Boston Police Department (UMBPD). With a strong emphasis on community engagement, CSO’s are responsible for performing a variety of duties to assist the (UMBPD) with its campus safety and community policing efforts. CSO’s assist UMBPD to make connections between students, faculty, staff, and other members of the community. The incumbent of this position enforces university policy, by-laws, the student code of conduct, and performs other non-criminal police related duties such as: community engagement and outreach; patrolling the campus on foot and/or be assigned to a designated post; provides direction, general information, and resources to the public, issuing parking tickets; performing walking escorts; respond to non-criminal complaints, building checks and other duties assigned. CSO’s are essential employees that do not carry firearms and have no powers of arrest.
Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training Health Services
The Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training within University Health Services will provide high-quality, time-effective, evidence-based and culturally responsive clinical services, including: triage; emergency and crisis intervention services; referrals and evaluations; as well as individual and group counseling and psychotherapy. The incumbent will also provide consultation to faculty and staff and provide outreach to the campus community. The incumbent will manage a caseload so as to serve the maximum number of students who are appropriate for services at the University Health Services Counseling Center; and will consult with and/or make timely and appropriate mental health referrals for students as needed. In addition, the Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training will provide leadership for the University Health Services Counseling Center Clinical Practicum and Advanced Clinical Practicum, serving as the liaison between the Counseling Center and the graduate programs in which the trainees are enrolled. The incumbent will guide the process of planning and producing the yearly practicum orientation, assuming primary responsibility for ensuring that trainees and practicum supervisors understand and act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Counseling Center; will oversee all data collection pertaining to the evaluation of the practicum; and will be responsible for overseeing the application process for the Advanced Clinical Practicum.

Assistant Professor Nursing
The Department of Nursing invites applicants to join our diverse college as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning September 1, 2024. There are two open positions at this time and interviews will start in early June. This search will stay open until filled.
Associate Lecturers (English) English
The English Department at UMass Boston anticipates availability for non-tenure-track associate lecturers in English to teach up to four sections (12 credits) of first-year composition, to start in fall and occasionally spring semesters. Availability of courses depends on student enrollment and is not guaranteed beyond one semester. In addition to instruction, the successful candidates will be expected to follow standard departmental policies related to instruction and course coordination in multi-section classes.
Lecturer (Sports Leadership and Administration) Counseling & School Psychology
The Sport Leadership and Administration program at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer (one-year appointment) to join the Department of Counseling and School Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development, beginning Fall 2024. Responsibilities include: (1) teach undergraduate-level courses; (2) advise undergraduate students; (3) assist in the recruitment and selection of new students; and (4) provide service to university, college, and departmental committees, and to professional associations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Internship Coordinator for the Sport Leadership and Administration program. Typically, full-time Non-Tenure Track faculty teach 12-credits every fall and spring semester
Labor Relations Manager Human Resources
Reporting to the Executive Director of Labor Relations, the Labor Relations Manager will have primary duties that include the resolution of grievances pertaining to collective bargaining agreements, employee concerns and potential disciplinary matters. The incumbent will administer human resources policies and procedures; and will provide support and guidance to managers and employees when employee discipline may be warranted. This position will participate in collective bargaining and impact bargaining with University Unions; and will provide guidance in the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and University policies and procedures. The position will be the first point of contact for various departments on labor relations issues.
Communications Dispatcher III Public Safety
The Dispatcher Level III oversees and monitors the work performed by Dispatcher Level I’s. Incumbents in this position establish staffing schedules, coordinate and conduct employee trainings and oversees and ensures compliance with university policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission. Incumbents also receives, reviews and transmits messages over a state and federal computer network, a fixed radio broadcast system, a police records management system and telephone, all under the rules and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission. Employees in this class operate radio transmitting and receiving equipment; maintain records and logs of messages; search files to obtain information; coordinate radio communications; and perform related work as required.
Professor Gerontology
UMass Boston's Gerontology Institute seeks a director for the Institute. This position also holds a full-time tenured faculty position at the rank of Full Professor in the Department of Gerontology to begin on September 1, 2024. The person who fills this position will also serve as the Director of the Gerontology Institute starting January 2025
